Fries production hall - fire load calculation

The challenge

A new line was being constructed as part of an expansion of production capacity at Lutosa. The production line included the tasks of peeling, washing, baking and sorting potatoes. However, it was not clear which class the building belonged to, and the building manager was also concerned about smoke removal, as no one knew what system was required to guarantee free passage for the fire service.

Approach

For this project, FESG mapped the fire load and planned out a performance-oriented smoke extraction system with the objective of ensuring smoke-free passage for the fire service.
